We wake up early
Krabi La Playa Resort in
Ao Nang.
We have to because we are going out early today, at nine o'clock we are picked up for a day
trip to four islands.
We have breakfast at the hotel and wait until we are picked up.
Via a few hotels, where people are also picked up, we go to the boat dock at Hat Noppharat
Thara.
It's busy and it seems chaotic, but everything is pretty well organized.
There are people here for different day trips, but everyone who has to sit in the same boat
gets a bracelet in a specific color, and so the various groups are kept together.
Finally we go with 10 other people to a speedboat with which we will make the day trip to
Hong Island.
The group is varied in age and nationality.
The first stop, after sailing for an hour, is the Pakbia island, where the beach is
especially nice.
We have half an hour to look around, more than enough.
The next stop, 10 minutes by boat, is the Laolading island where we will also have lunch.
This island is especially interesting for bird watchers because many swallows seem to nest
there.
Not much to see for us, but we can have lunch in the shade of the rocks.
Lunch tastes ok, not too much adapted.
Then to Hong Island, a fifteen minute boat ride.
The mooring place for the boat looks familiar and we get the idea that we have been here
before.
There is two hours here to enjoy the very beautiful beach and to snorkel.
Pia goes snorkeling, Tom lies on the beach in the shade.
It's starting to become clear, we've been here before, on our last visit to Phuket in 1998.
But the next day Pia remembers, it looks very much like an island we visited during our stay
on Ko Samui in 2013 when we visited Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park.
Finally we sail to a ""sea lake"" in a mountain, very beautiful.
We've been here before, too, but then we saw it from the mountain, or so we thought.
Back at the hotel, the sand is washed away, and we go to the night market.
We have been there before Friday, January
27, 2023, ate tasty squid and we hope to be able to eat there again now.
The chefs are doing their best, we can see that, but the food is not what we hoped for,
unfortunately.
